Rush Hop is Frogger, but you're the truck. Each stop on the route map is a delivery against the clock, eggs to the diner by 2:40, and the frogs keep crossing in front of you. Every frog you hit pops into a cartoon sticker on your windshield, and quick hits chain into combos. Braking to line one up costs you time, so every run is a trade between speed and aim.

The frogs aren't sitting ducks. The Hopper crouches before every hop, so you can lead it. The Bluffer stops in your lane, fakes a lunge one way, then leaps the other way at the last moment, and the fake is the tell. Convoys cross in a diagonal line you can sweep, the Sprinter is gone in a blink, and the Possum lies on its back in the road, leaning the way it's about to bolt. Now and then a Golden Frog zigzags across, worth 100. And then there's the Bullfrog: hit one with your bumper and the windshield cracks. Three cracks and the run is over.

There are three stops, each with its own look and its own frogs: a country road in the late afternoon, a narrow plank boardwalk over a swamp full of Convoys, and a town at dusk where you find frogs in your headlights. Each delivery earns up to three stars (on time, enough frogs, a big enough combo), and finishing one opens the next stop and a new vehicle: a school bus that sweeps Convoys but brakes like a boat, a nimble pizza kart that's hard to hit anything with, and an ice cream van whose jingle draws the frogs toward you. After the town, the endless road opens. The end shot of every run is your windshield from inside the cab, covered in that run's stickers.

It plays with one finger on a phone: drag left and right to steer, up and down to set your speed. On a computer, use the arrow keys or drag with the mouse.

The idea is Jeff's, from a brainstorm of cursed game premises. It took three rounds to get here, the last one adding the routes, the clock and the vehicles. It's built with three.js; the bus and the kart are Meshy models. The promo above was filmed from the real game, on seeded runs driven by a bot.
